Hungering

like a speeding train,
you eat me up
and blaze away

blaze a trail
a fire against the blackened sky
tracks through my heart
and a wish in the dark

i am longing
i will linger here
deep and withholding
I'm finding you gently
breaking

a little folk goddess
tiny and enchanting
hitching a ride home
to you

i can't relate to the
woman inside me
the frozen greatness
the tingling and humming

of magic in the night
the circle of fire and the moon
my naked skin
dancing around you
and you'll let go someday
this i know
but i can't promise
that i'll ever stop hungering
for you

my folk lover,
i'll never stop hungering for you.
